The goal of attendant research is to help clients deal with the issues they face, or to complete projects they are working on, by providing the conceptual and organizational consulting needed to deal with any questions or problems that may arise. The consulting and monitoring of implementation processes (to name one example) can lead to a recognition of potentialities and constraints, as well as to an identification of forms of successful realization (of institutionalization and execution). A systematic examination of successes and difficulties during a project includes an analysis and assessment of the effects of attendant measures. Such result analyses should be transdisciplinary in nature and are an essential basis for the preparation and execution of assessment analyses, which in turn form the foundation of long-term monitoring.
Attendant research experts from ISOE pay particular attention to investigating the roll of communication structures and instruments by, for example, evaluating marketing concepts or network building. Often it is a question of avoiding conflicts, or, if already at hand, moderating these, as well as working to increase the acceptance of measures introduced and encouraging participation. By means of a combination of conceptual and organizational monitoring and consulting professional competencies can be broadened and strengthened at the same time as the desired goals are implemented and anchored.
In order to insure generalization and continuity the results of such projects are assembled in the form of guidelines and handouts for practical use; for certain cases, ‘best practices’ pamphlets may be produced, which make clear through examples the transfer potential of such practices.
ISOE offers attendant research and scientific consulting in various areas and professional fields, and for a quite varied clientele (policymakers, administration, corporations, associations).
Proven competence in applied scientific research means that ISOE can provide a wide range of services: conceptual design of support programs; execution of attendant research processes for support programs; preparation of analyses of support programs; as well as the evaluation of research projects and support programs.
In addition ISOE has also carried out implementation monitoring, acceptance analyses and evaluations in the area of energy and mobility. As a result of this track record the institute has at its disposal a wide range of experience with respect to a broad set of scientific methods (potentialities and constraints analyses, effects and consequence analyses, network analyses; discourse field and conflict analyses, multi-criteria analyses), as well as competency in process formation (facilitation, work shop design). The choice and customization of appropriate methods has been part of ISOE’s service package for years.
