By initiating a scientific network on social-ecological life style research it was the aim to enhance the exchange between colleagues of social sciences and mobility research and improve the opportunities to strengthen discussions outside concrete project contexts.
Since the 1990ies the social-ecological life-style approach produced relevant knowledge output for the applied sustainability research, for instance in the fields of mobility, nutrition, tourism, housing. But life-style approaches also can be criticised regarding methodological and theoretical problems. Thus it is the aim of the network to face these and come to innovative approaches. In the focus of the network are activities like workshops and joint publications. Carrier of the network is a core group of 3 three ISOE and four external researchers.
