Financing
As an independent and non-commercial research facility, the Institute essentially finances itself from public project funds and commissions awarded by tender, and from private clients and environmental associations. Over and above this, the Institute receives institutional sponsorship from the state of Hessen and city of Frankfurt am Main. This is primarily used to cover the Institute's own share of the costs incurred by project research.
