research area Transdisciplinary Concepts and Methods

Studies in Sociology, Political Science, German Literature and History at the Universities of Freiburg and Frankfurt am Main in Germany. Final exams for teaching German and Sociology in secondary education ("1. Staatsexamen für Sekundarstufe II") in 1980. Degree in Sociology in 1981. Participation in the research group "Social Ecology" from 1986 to 1988. Awarded a doctorate degree by the University of Frankfurt in 1989 on the topic of "Crisis as a Form of Social Experience. Outlines of a Social-Ecological Concept of Society."

Thomas Jahn is a co-founder of the Institute for Social-Ecological Research and is a member of the research team as well as its Managing Director. His research areas are science and research policy.
